You thought crack was a trip? X? Acid? Smack? What was your poison, your passion, your prison in life? Guess what? You're dead and you still got a monkey on your back. Welcome to eternity, junkie. The members of this bloodline, even in un-death, still pursue -- are still driven, still drawn -- by the altered states, the soaring highs, the crushing lows, and that oh, so sweet nepenthe of drugs. And they bring their prey along for the ride (often the very last ride) of their lives.
Not even the vampiric Embrace allows some undead to escape the embrace of drug addiction. Bearers of this blood suffer obsession with altered states, whether for themselves or inflicting them upon others through the unique nepenthe power. Most are drawn to the Circle of the Crone. The Carthians are the second most common choice (especially for young Anvari). The Invictus also has a share and some are found within the Ordo Dracul. Among Lancea Sanctum they are very rare.

Due to the additions that run so deep within their blood gain little sustenance from their victums when feeding on those who are not currently intoxicated.
History and Culture:
According the rumors about the legendary origin and the tales spun by the eldest of the bloodline the bloodline was founded long before the opium wars. By none other than Anvari himself in 100ad. There are none old enough to verify this tale themselves but the rumors and legends of their origin continue to this day.
The reputation of a Daeva always precedes it. An Anvari is no exception. Daeva being creatures constantly plagued by their vice an Anvari is ruled by it. Most clans and covenants see them with a simplistic view. As nothing more than druggies, junkies, addicts, dealers. While this sometimes rings true the truth behind an Anvari is far more complicated..
Nepenthe is a discipline that mimics the feelings produced by drugs, specifically opiates and derived drugs such as Ecstasy or heroin. It is the focus of the Anvari bloodline of the Daeva, an ancient group of drug dealers. Thematically, it is similar to Cachexy and Asphyx, in that its development was partially to aid the user in acquiring drug-tainted Vitae to feed off of.
Full descriptions of this discipline and its effects can be found in Bloodlines: The Hidden
• Fragrance of the Hal Gil
Makes the user's nose much more sensitive to the scent of opiates, allowing them to find any that may be hidden in the area.
•• Inflict the Empty Soul
Immediately cancels out the effects of drugs acting on the target, causing them to become completely and crushingly sober.
••• Crave the Caress
Inflicts the need for drugs upon a person, requiring them to fulfill that need even if they have never done any before.
•••• Kiss of the Hal Gil
Replicates a drug that the Anvari has used before in the target, causing all of the effects that would normally be associated with that compound.
••••• Blessed Drowning
Causes an instant overdose in the target, pushing them far beyond the limit of drug toxins their body can handle.
