    • a. VSS Name: The Truth is Out There
    • b. Domain: SC-012-D
    • c. Game Coordinates (Latitude, Longitude): Charleston, SC
    • d. VSS Physical Boundaries: Charleston, Berkley, and Dorchester County
    • e. VST: Elizabeth Namiotko
    • f. DST: Eric Mattson
    • g. Usual Game Time and Place: 1st Saturday of the month, 6:30pm, Various Locations
  • 2. Style of Play (rate 1-5 each)
    • a. Domestic Focus: 4
      • i. How much time each PC needs to spend managing their relationship with non-Accord NPCs from their Template. Will PCs need to worry about the Masquerade or hiding themselves from other inquisitive Mages?
      • ii. 1 = None of them even know who you are
      • iii. 5 = The Prince has you on speed dial
    • b. Scale of Stories: 3
      • i. How epic are the plots and NPCs? Are they all over-the-top and wild or are they grounded in realism? Will the city be in constant danger? Will the other realms like the Hedge always have strange and dangerous events going on?
      • ii. 1 = Low level and gritty like Deadwood
      • iii. 5 = Doctor Who
    • c. Enigmas: 4
      • i. How much mystery and investigation is there? Are the enemies simple to locate and obvious in their planning? Will there be elaborate puzzles that PCs have to unravel over the course of several games?
      • ii. 1 = Cult temple has a neon sign out front
      • iii. 5 = The Shadow doesn’t even know
    • d. Graphicness: 4

      • ii. 1 = More implied than seen, such as Psycho
      • iii. 5 = Saw + Geiger = LOL
    • e. Tragedy: 4
      • i. How dark and bleak does it get? Is this a big adventurous fight where PCs march from one victory to the next or is every win tained by horrific moral quandaries?
      • ii. 1 = A good, stiff drink and you can shrug off anything
      • iii. 5 = Every single game will leave a mark on your PC’s soul
    • f. Risk: 2
      • i. In general, how much risk of permanent death is there for a PC in this game?
      • ii. 1 = PC Death very unlikely, usually on a voluntary basis
      • iii. 5 = Tread carefully as the STs and other players don’t pull punches
    • g. Focus: 2
      • i. This slider is a bit different. Select the value that most closely represents how your game is run. Occasional variances are fine but this is to set player expectations so it should be how your game is almost always run.
      • 1. PvE Heavy, PvP None: PCs cooperate for the good of the Cell and the Accord to fight The Truth. This is often called an Adventure game.
      • 2. PvE Heavy, PvP Social: PCs will occasionally clash socially only, but will always band together to fight The Truth.
      • 3. PvE Light, PVP Social: The focus is the social clash of the PC and cell politics, with occasional outings to fight The Truth. This is often called a Salon game.
      • 4. PvE Light, PvP Full: The social and political clashes between PCs are the focus, with occasional bloody confrontations that are only highlighted by the fights against The Truth.
      • 5. PvE Heavy, PvP Full: This game does everything to the maximum. Lethal fights against the minions of The Truth are a dark backdrop that underscore bloody politics and unforgiving infighting. These games are always on the brink and often have a high risk.
  • 3. Venue Synopsis
    • a. Basic Description:

Charleston is an old city, its history reaching far beyond the days of the Truth and the Accord. The Outsider and its forces are far from the only problem Charleston’s denizens have to worry about. The truce previously reached between the Changelings, Vampires, and Forsaken is rocky at best with recent events. Mortals are not always blind to the odd goings-on that come from such a population of Supernatural beings, and the war stirring beneath the surface to break out once more threatens to pull everyone into its grasp by the time all is done. Plot and Story in Charleston will be based around a number of things. Churches are a big theme in Charleston, especially downtown. There are a number of spirits, ghosts, and hauntings. Players can expect to have to deal with keeping the Truth from non-Believers, and maintain relations with their character’s relations outside of the Accord. Cults, Artifacts, etc will make appearances at times as well.

    • b. Focused Realm:
      • i. Where most time will be spent: Mortal World, though plot and story reaching into other realms will not be uncommon.
    • c. Locations:
      • i. Elysium is a 4th Tradition Elysium located at the Dock Street Theater in Downtown Charleston.
      • ii. The Changeling Freehold is located in the area surrounding the Angel Oak Tree on Johns Island.
      • iii. Task Force Valkyrie own a two-story home in Downtown Charleston with a number of secret/hidden rooms and caches.
      • iv.
    • d. Brief History:
      • i. When did the local Cell form? Early 2013.
      • ii. Have there been any major Incursions here? Not yet.
      • iii. Are there any cool local legends or history that might show up in game? Civil War Remnants, Fort Sumter, the Ghost of Lavinia Fisher, and a number of other local hauntings.
  • 4. Character Restrictions
    • a. Target RQ:
      • i. What is the RQ that each PC should shoot for? 55
    • b. Max RQ:
      • i. What is the max allowed RQ for locals and/or Visitors? 105 locals, 95 visitors. Coming close to this level of RQ will bring attention to the character, and require heavy communication with the ST at times.
    • c. Template Restrictions:
      • i. Only one Promethean will ever be allowed in the venue at one time, and will require working heavily with the ST.
    • 5. Venue Specific Notes (leave this in for every VSS for the first couple parts)
      • a. The Player must provide the ST access to the materials related to their character sheet – books, rules, etc. if the ST does not have access to them on their own.
      • b. Powers do not always quite work as they should – the VST has ultimate authority in the case of rules calls. Remember that the VST may not have every access to every book to help in cross-venue madness. They are given the benefit of the doubt by the ST chain in most cases.
      • c. Games or Downtime Roleplay may occasionally be run on IRC, and exp can be awarded from these sessions in the same way that they would be awarded for game.
  • 6. Additional Proxy Requirements: Characters may not be proxied for Live Games, unless otherwise noted for specific game sessions. In a Proxy report, the following items are required:
    • a. 24 Hours notification, when possible.
    • b. Character Sheet, with Experience Log Available Upon Request
    • c. Intentions/Goals while on Proxy.
    • d. Powers likely to be used while on Proxy, and how.
    • e. How your character would interact in possible circumstances (when possible).
    • f. Contact information.
    • g. Page references for any Powers/Abilities not included in base books.
    • h. How the character is traveling to the area.
  • 7. Rules for Visiting Players:
    • a. Character Sheet with Experience log provided at least 24 hours in advance whenever possible.
    • b. Page references for any powers outside of the base books.
    • c. How the character is traveling to the area.
  • 8. Travel Risks:
    • a. Travel does not pose any specific risks outside the normal. Specific issues will be updated on the website/wiki page as necessary between VSS updates.
  • 9. Exp Awards
    • a. Base 7 exp per game, if player attends at least 75% of game.
    • b. 1 exp for Costume.
    • c. 2 exp for Roleplay.
    • d. Up to 4 exp per Downtime.
  • 10. Current VSS Reality Quotient: (1-1000) TBD
  • 11. Aberrations (House Rules)
    • a. Fuel Mechanics: Willpower returns at a rate of 1 per week, unless Downtime is put in to explain how the character is attempting to gain it faster.
    • b. Any power that allows, or requires, a person to leave their body must have their body within VSS boundaries.
    • c. Dramatic Failure and Exceptional Successes will be used on this VSS.
