Lazuli tent.jpg

That it grows harder even to meet you in dreams --
might it be because I cannot sleep,
or because you have put me from your mind?

In death one loses the sun, loses the day. But some are able to walk in dreams. To let the lattice of fate wash over them, to see the pain of beauty and the horror that lies in the dreams of humanity. They walk the strange places in the world, paths unseen, mysterious lands.

But looking from the outside there are no limits to our sight. We do not yet understand our fate, the fate of the world. But we will.

Lazuli of Clan Ravnos

Well over nine centuries of nights have passed for her. Throughout time she has been seen in the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires, various cities of medieval Europe, and along the Silk Road. Sometimes she speaks of the snows in Russia, the gardens in Cathay, or the rolling sands of the Sahara. Only very rarely does she ever speak of India.

Most often of Istanbul. Frequently found in the Levant, North Africa, the Middle East, southern Europe, the Far East. Now exploring the southern United States. In the spring of 2014, she joined the Camarilla.

  • Always wears blue clothing and lapis lazuli jewelry
  • A friendly and calm person, highly in touch with her Humanity
  • Although she is very human in appearance, there is an Eerie Presence about her
  • Master of languages, hopelessly awful with accents
  • Quite vocal that she is not Romani -- she is Turkish

  • Innate: Confirmed, Established, and Privileged as an Elder of the Camarilla
  • Fleeting: Favored by Alexander Konrad, Favored by Prince Eirik Alexson, Victorious by Rafael de Corazon, Acclaimed by Archon Benjamin Sharp

Lazuli's Lesser Status Ban as a member of the Ravnos was lifted by decree Justicar Cole and the Inner Circle. She currently has no status ban.

What Is Said

  • "She may think of me as a burning sun. But she has long been my stars. My guide. She shows me what our clan is capable of. I wish her every success even though we do not see eye to eye." - X
  • "What can I say? We were young together. Times were different. There is a special bond created through nostalgia." - Adrienne Maxwell
  • "The nature of my relationship with the kindred known as Lazuli is frankly none of your concern. You need only know that she is dear to me, and will always be accepted in the warmth of my home. Knowing this may well save your life one night." - Eirik Alexson
  • "There are nights when, for a moment, I envy the freedom she holds. The power to travel wherever and whenever she wishes, unburdened by lies and illusions. But then, after another few decades, she returns to civilization and freely places those shackles around her own neck. To this I am utterly baffled. But perhaps Lazuli understands something of the world that I do not." - Einhardt Wagner
  • "For as long as I have known her, her feet have been firmly set upon their own path. What that path is, I don't know, but she does not stray from it - despite what impression she might give to others." - Eileen Vargas
  • "I do so love the moments I have shared with her. Lazuli understands the nightly struggles of the outsider better than most and she has my sympathy and support." - Istral
  • "Over a hundred years and I still never know just what to expect." - Adam Shen
  • "There's few better people to sit in a corner and chat with while being shunned by polite society." - Jack Rey
  • "It is warming to see an Elder so very concerned with their lineage." - Elisheva
  • "Och, aye - so you want to know about my introduction to Lazuli, do you? Well, no stranger meeting's taken place on the road, that's for certain; imagine, two Ravnos being introduced by a Prince of the Camarilla! 'Tis no lie I tell you now, for sure. I'm glad for it, too - she's one hell of a lady, she is. Beautiful smile, enchanting eyes, and she's a kindness on her that makes her more noble in many ways than many of the so-called Princes I've ever met. She's a friend of me, sure, and I'd take the hide out of any man who'd make her sore." - Mick
  • "I have been called a chameleon not infrequently over the years. I have remade my niche when necessary or desired like one changes clothes. I've been accused of being nothing more than an illusion, a doppelganger, and a fraud, though usually those are levied by ex-lovers. However, even I have never managed so transforming a feat as to in one short evening go from half outcast, socially unsuitable, independant to honored Elder of the Ivory Tower." - Alicia Vangelista
  • "She makes me think of the suit of Hearts; all made up of cool water and sheer adaptability. I gave her a gift the night I first met her and I hope it brings her luck." - The Gambler
  • "Lazuli. Oh, the things we've done together!" - Marus
  • "Many years have passed since I last saw this one. To witness firsthand that Lazuli has managed to endear herself to so many elders of the Camarilla fills me with pride. Perhaps someday she will join us." - Ammarah
  • "I will admit to a touch of frustration. Dreams of better tomorrows seemed to come so naturally to her. I thought by now she would have become part of this glorious vision. But perhaps her carefree attitude is proving to be an obstacle to her commitment? I would hate to discover that there was some malady of her blood. It would be so terribly sad." - Clé deMontes
  • "She's an odd one. Not a bad sort though. Reminds me of cats..." - Rain
  • "Who? Oh, the gypsy? What do I think about her? I don't understand the question. She's like the Tree that falls in the woods... I'm more interested in who was holding the axe." - Nenette
  • "I know it's considered taboo to speak to her, but I always find the more rare manifestations of the blood to be the most interesting." - Walter Rook
  • "Some manner of mercy or civility had me share a car-ride with this Sapphire variant. What more do you ask me to say on the matter? Oh....fine. -ahem- She.....appears pleasant. She doesn't bother me like some simpering Setite asking if I need a favor, at least" - Prince Orelio Taipetra of Baton Rouge
  • "There is much to be said about someone who knows how to play by the unwritten rules. Do not assume that someone without standing does not hold sway within our sect." - Calvin Hastings
  • "I met her only briefly, but I enjoyed speaking with her. She is a calm, beautiful stone weathering the sea." - Harper Gray
  • "At first, I was a little in love. But the charming creature is a Ravnos that's made herself into an acknowledged Elder of the Ivory Tower. Now, I think more than a little." - Benedict
  • "I am deeply pleased that Elder Lazuli has decided to join the Tower. Why? Her grace and poise is unusual to say the least, and her expertise in certain matters is a boon to us all." - David Daniel Steiner
  • "In my stead as Harpy, having personally proclaimed Elder Lazuli's courtesy, I am quite pleased to see her worth now recognized by the whole of the Ivory Tower." - Master Harpy Forbes, Domain of Waterloo
  • "Her smile reminds me of all the things I've never known, and most likely never will. It is a rare joy, and a truth not often shown by such tricksters." - Atlas
  • "One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star." - Constance Fournier
  • "She is honest and does not embarrass. Two qualities I find admirable." - The Broken
  • "She is bright and true. Not unlike the north star she helps me find my way home." - Christopher Cooper
  • "Our paths first converged through a combination of fate, honor, and duty; now our paths have crossed again. What has the Lord, God set forth for me in terms of this woman, I wonder?" -Andrasi de Covasna (not for use IC)
  • "Lazuli is a curiosity to me. A fascination. She moves with ease through the shark infested waters of the Tower...and they accept her gentle guidance. She shines so brightly as a pillar of humanity and grace it hurts the eyes. Were I a better creature I would strive to be like her...but I am not, so I instead I treasure the rare moments of her attention that remind me why I am here." - Brigid
  • "It takes no great talent to make words come out of your mouth. But where most kindred merely stagger through verbiage, Lazuli is a master of genuinely meaningful conversation." - Jasper Stark
  • "There are many roles that are played within the Tower, let alone in relation to it. All of them ultimately help to reinforce its pillars, craft it stronger. She embraces exactly where her stone has been set. And sure, in the future the stone might move up, but the fact she knows exactly where it is wedged between only strengthens us all." - Cricket
  • "Elder Lazuli seeks the truth of things. What others might overlook, she takes the time to try to understand." - Isaac Brasher
    • After Embrace: "Lazuli is such an ill-fitting name for her. Cinnabar would have been more apt, don't you think?" - Isaac Brasher
  • "I lie to lots of kindred, promising them that I will use them as character inspiration to one of my novels. I never do. Yet I fear that with Elder Lazuli she will inspire many characters as I try to figure out hers." - Toby Dior

  • Lazuli seems to have very few possessions. What could someone need when they can make anything simply by wishing it into being? But those few trinkets of hers that are real --- what could be important enough for a Ravnos to tie themselves to something material?
  • While within the walls of the Tower she always does everything right. To what end?
  • Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Lazuli is adept in these things.
  • Lazuli has recently taken to wearing a red scarf on her wrist instead of blue. Why would a lady always in blue wear red?
"A kiss may not be the truth, but it is what we wish were true"
